We risked our necks and bought a Waloli dress for Yuuhi with a short bobbed wig to go with it at TDA. Unfortunately, there are no pics of the real event itself as we (or rather, Wan) forgot to bring the camera (Sorry, Rene!). Mum was a little rattled that we'd spent half a month's worth of pocket money in a single day, and promptly laid down a new decree forbidding us to buy new dollie wares for the next two years, which I feel will be shortened after time after Mum unrattles herself. Anyway, we are just about content with Yuuhi's wardrobe (for now).

Wan reckons we should get specs for Yuuhi (makes her look cuter; quoth Wan). Someone tell her she's mad. Pics are under the cut, with a surprise at the end. 8D

Yuuhi's new bob wig.

Side view.

A voice peals in this end of night
A phrase of notes resembling stars,
Single and spiritual notes of light.

What call they at my window bars?

Alone in deep reflection.

Full view.

"Would you like a flower for your pretty hair?"

"It comes from the very depths of my heart."

The silhouette under the moonlight...
Dogwalking + Farewell

Took Ichigo for his daily walk today to the reservoir and back and he poo-ed twice. -__-+ I had to pick up the dog dung and dump it in a dustbin. It wasn't the best job in the world. But then again, walking Ichigo is one of the best ways to relax and exercise at the same time. (Actually, exercise IS relaxing because you release endorphin when you work out.)

The reservoir has nice scenery, particularly at sunset when the clouds and sky change colours and blend into a wonderful pallete, which we got to witness today. I bet it's lovely during the sunrise as well but I'm too much of a Sloth to wake up so early to look at it. The rocks on the bank of the reservoir and the water itself have soothing effects too (although Ichigo was more interesting in sniffing the ground).

Sometimes there're people flying kites and walking their dogs there but today we practically had the whole place to ourselves because it was rather hot in the afternoon (too hot for a walk, I suppose). I reckon it's a nice place to have a picnic. :D (Ichigo reckons too, that greedy-guts.)

We've intensified his exercise regime and cut his tidbit indulgence because he happens to be 3 kg overweight. (We never expected him to be, because he was always thin no matter what he ate in the past, but I guess his growth spurt has stopped.) Ideally, he should lose 7 kg.

So, he has to walk all the way to the reservoir instead of simply grazing around in the field near my house. And eat less treats too. We've indulged Ichigo too much. (Practically the whole family gives him a "daily treat" every day. Ichigo knows how to endear himself to us and more importantly, is very polished in the art of looking starved.)

The vet also mentioned that Ichigo has got to be more socialized and see more of the world, so the reservoir is ideal because the people there are doing a variety of interesting things like kite-flying, fishing, etc. And since my niece just got a dog (name's Sheila) I expect Ichigo would have to expect their company more often. I don't think he minds children because they don't look threatening. 欺软怕硬, he is.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Setting off for Taiwan at 10.10 am precisely tomorrow. I wish I could bring along Yuuhi (if only she weren't so breakable) because I've located the Dollheart store in Gao Xiong and will most definitely be going doll-clothes-shopping. :D So excited!

Quoth Mum: "... As long as it's under 30 dollars, it's fine to buy".

Nice one, Mum. We hope you're joking.

Well, I'm not going to say much (the pictures will do the talking!) but let's just say that there are quite a lot of pictures here, so I put them under a cut.
Just planted some lovely Zinnia Liliput seeds in a pot. :D The flowers look like dahlias so we bought it today. It'll take 7 days to germinate but 10-12 weeks to flower, so I expect we won't be seeing any flowers soon, but once they bloom I'm going to post up pictures. It's going to look something like this:

The individual flowers are rather tiny, hence the name Liliput. One blossom is around 3-5 cm in diameter. I heard that they attract many butterflies too. :DDD Wheee.

Ichigo was rather curious when we were plantin' the seeds. First time a plant got more attention than him? xDDD Anyway, I hope he's not going to disturb the seeds or try to eat the soil. (We placated him with a chicken-flavoured orange bone today. Brand-new and meant for cleaning his teeth and occupying him. 8D)

My grandma showed me her cucumbers today. Pictures will be posted, I suppose. :DDD

I proceed to crawl out of hiatus-dom (although I'm not exactly on hiatus) to update this place. It's been really dull around here, eh? Well, I've been occupied these few days (mainly I'm trying to occupy myself, since there's nothing occupying me) either playing Neopets (yeah, I don't want to abandon my account, do I?), drawing stuff or golfing.

Nothing much interesting has happened since my Mum made pudding, yes. Ho hum. Except that I've picked up golf.

I'm still rather green around the horns (figuratively, of course! :O) but after a few more weeks I'll take my PC test and handicap test and pass, hopefully. Golf is really fun because it doesn't involve 1) much running, 2) violence (only to the li'l white ball, and the grass), and 3) endurance. A sport that's mostly shipshape and Bristol fashion, I say. Can't wait to get on the course, so that I can use my full set of (PINK!) clubs.

The hard thing about golf is that it requires one to use every part of the body, which, of course, is too much for my little brain to manage. xD Remember one thing, and forget another. (I need a little black book to jot down all the stuff I need to note.)

As for what kind of art I'm working on now, I'm not going to post it up, because it's going to be sent to Neopets so that it can hopefully be chosen to be published on their Art Gallery. (They'll give you 10, 000 NP if it's good enough to be published.) Neopets has mentioned that they will not accept any art pieces taken from the net, so I'm not taking any risks.

The only thing I can say about it is that it depicts a Water Faerie watering a giant lotus somewhere at the bottom of Neopia's ocean, surrounded by small pixie-like glowing figures. I drew the faerie and Wan drew the watering can. xDDD It's a collab. I just need to finish the lotus (the damn flower is giving me lots of pain, you know?!) and hand it over to Wan for editing and colouring.

I asked Mum for critique today and she criticized my lotus. Said it looked too wide. Well, I guess copying off pictures of deities standing on lotuses isn't going to work (the deities stand on lotuses that look more like tables than real lotuses, to suit their function). (I was at my hairdresser's house looking at her deity pictures hanging on her wall before I got down to drawing it, you see.)

I actually have lotuses in my pond, but I rarely bother to look at them. Happens that the plant doesn't want to bloom at this crucial period where I need to refer to a real lotus, so I looked for guides and pictures online. Worked quite well, though I have to say drawing lotuses still are a pain in the butt. DDD<

Oh yeah, forgot to mention: I'm starting on an exercise regime so that I can pass my PFT next year. Giant leap for a worm/coral branch like me. Hooray. (In case I chicken out, as is my habit, Mum is there to chain me to the treadmill. Muahahaha.) I walk/run 2.4 km every day now, increasing my speed as the days go by and hoping to eventually go fast enough so that I can pass.

Progress: Snail (5.6 km/h). One up from Slug (5.2 km/h). Gotta go slow for now, and slowly build up so that I can attain Human speed (9.6 km/h). Hey, it's not bad for a coral branch. :D
Never underestimate the power of pudding.

Just had Mum's steamed egg pudding yesterday, after I was wise enough to broadcast my pudding craving, which was brought on by watching a drama with a pudding-loving protagonist (My Boss My Hero). Don't we all just love pudding? :D (Okay, maybe I'm the only one.)

Actually, apart from eating the pudding itself, I'm often wondering how people make pudding and about the difference between pudding, jelly and curd. Admittedly, all I know about making pudding is that it involves some eggs and a little milk. xD The texture of pudding is really something to think about. It's solid but really soft and extremely breakable. Brittle, one could say, in terms of Chemistry, but one wouldn't think of a pudding as brittle.

Oh well. I guess I'm really bored now that it's the holidays, huh? One could say, "The time has come (the Walrus said) to talk of many things: Of shoes - and ships - and sealing wax - of cabbages - of kings - and why the sea is boiling hot - and whether pigs have wings." Without schoolwork to occupy my mind I've been thinking about a lot of random ideas.

The old knight in Through the looking-glass once said he'd invented a new type of pudding during the main course, although it was never ever served for dessert. I wonder how one goes about making plum pudding or any type of new pudding. I'm really quite unschooled in cooking.

Just a random thought: Turns out there is a real-life alternative to the Water Walker dragon in Dragon Cave (it's a dragon that can stand on calm waters). It's called the Basilisk and it's a lizard (basilisks aren't snakes, contrary to popular belief) and it can actually walk on water (run, actually) for a few seconds because of its special feet (webbed, with huge surface area) and other adaptations.

Came across this information on Wikipedia and then coincidentally saw footage of this lizard on Animal Planet. Been watching a lot of animal programs lately, particularly those involving animal attacks on humans (it's just a coincidence, I don't have a taste for violence). More often than most, animals attack humans who invade their personal space. Which gets me thinking about Ichigo, who would probably be in tatters right now if I were a grizzly. (He invades my personal space every time he does a "drug inspection"/welcome sniff.)

I really need to occupy my brain a bit before it rots away and becomes mush. I blame the EOY actually, because it actually kicked me out of my journal-writing habit. DDD8 Anyway, I thought it'd be a good idea to post up a wishlist of dragons I want to get here, since I've always wanted to do so. I don't want to set up a word doc just for this, so here goes.

Dragon Wishlist

<strike>1. Purple

If I had every one of these dragons/dinos, my scroll will be complete, i.e. I would have every type of dragon on Dragon Cave, not counting those that are festive dragons. :DDD Of course, there'll always be new releases of eggs.

Actually, I was thinking that it would be a good idea to allocate different days for different types of eggs to appear on the egg drops, instead of having egg drops with certain egg ratios. With all the influx of new eggs, old/rare eggs hardly have a chance to be "dropped" at the Cave. Even red eggs seem uncommon now. Gold eggs are virtually extinct already.

For example, we could have red, earth, horse, and striped eggs dropped on Monday, then pond, storm, black and silver on Tuesday, so on so forth...

I wonder if the Valentine dragons would suddenly have the ability to influence dragons to mate on Valentine's day... just like how the Vampire dragons can bite only on Halloween. 8D

Ahem. After wishing for so much things, I reckon it's a good time to be generous as well. So, I think I'm going to put up a list of eggs I'm able to gift. Take it as a Christmas giveaway thing. :)))) I'm so nice. Of course, this is for friends only. I don't want to be flooded with requests. My dragons aren't breeding machines.

Gift-able Eggs

1. Silver
2. Seasonal
3. Striped
4. Geode
5. New Pink
6. Pygmy

I'm only giftin' these few types because they're more in-demand nowadays. The rest of the common eggs can be easily snagged at the Cave. Keep in mind that breeding attempts may not be successful. Also, exchange attempts can be unsuccessful.

I'm not expecting any returns for gifting these eggs, but if you have an egg that's on my wishlist and you don't want it, I'll be glad to trade. :D Better still if it's Caveborn and doesn't have any lineage. I'm willing to trade with people that aren't my LJ friends too.

/musings.

Since Steffi said this manga wasn't just some "otaku" manga she thought it was, and that the main characters reminded her of Rukia and Ichigo, I decided to try Kaichou wa Maid-sama! out. :D

I haven't been reading much new shoujo manga lately too, in fact I haven't been reading any at all, so I thought it would be a good idea to pick up a light and fluffy shoujo manga for a good, relaxed read. And so, here it is:

What should I say? It's rather mushy and has all the lovey-dovey elements of a shoujo manga, of course, and it's quite funny to read, in my opinion. On the whole I like it because it's fluffy and fun and is great for light-hearted reading. It helps that the art is good (:DDD), the characters are cute, and coloured spreads are aplenty.

I've already added it to my official manga tracking list. xDDD Currently staving off the temptation to read up to the latest chapter.

Nice spread. :D

http://media.onemanga.com/mangas/00000346/000126132/01.jpg

Usui is really cool here. *_*

The maid cafe does a different theme every once in a while. xD The Shrine Maiden Day, the Imouto Day, the Glasses Day, so on. I quite like the concept. (Actually if there was ever a maid cafe like that I'd want to go and see how it's like, even if I'm not a guy.)

I like the part when Usui gives the puppy-dog eyes. <333 Squee! Dogs are so cute! You can see it below:

http://media.onemanga.com/mangas/00000346/000171702/04.jpg

PUPPY-DOG EYES FOR THE WIN. *。*

I really hope the anime will come out soon! This series deserves a good anime adaptation. :) I keep wondering how Usui's voice will sound like, because I can't fathom how he can not sound gay when he says stuff like "Misaki-chan...". And I really wonder how they'd assign a voice actor to a bishie that behaves like a perverted おっさん sometimes. (Perverted Outer Space Alien xDDD) Although he's really cute, yeah... <3

I like mangas with strong female characters. :D Misaki-chan is no softie, which makes it even more interesting because she's so tsundere. More tsun than dere, although I foresee more and more mushy and fluffy moments! KYAAA!

P.S. And Usui and Misaki really do remind me a bit of Ichigo and Rukia, though in appearance only. -.- Usui is extremely unlike Ichigo, although Misaki and Rukia really are quite alike in many ways.

Ooh, and another doggy bit: http://media.onemanga.com/mangas/00000346/000155602/31.jpg

So cute. <3

This will be the male counterpart to my female Waterhorse dragon, since there's a different sprite from the male and female versions of this dragon. I've used the male pink dragon's new Gender-Influencing ability on it, so I really hope it will turn out to be a male dragon. The pink dragons' new abilities increase the chance of a unhatched egg to gender male/female (depends on the gender of the pink dragon used) to 75%. :D

However, if this one's just destined to be female, it might just gender wrongly. xD I love the unpredictability of Dragon Cave. It's hilarious.

I may have mentioned this before, but Earth dragons now have the ability to induce Earthquakes to let eggs hatch prematurely - or die as a result! It depends on luck whether your eggs die or not. Red dragons are also now able to "incubate" eggs so they hatch one day earlier.

I'm really happy with this Halloween's catch - this was the first time we ever got a festive egg despite the overwhelming odds (the competition is over the top on Dragon Cave). We missed this year's Valentine dragons, but we managed to get a Christmas Yulebuck egg last year because they were cropping up in the Abandoned Page.

I heard that this year some Vampire dragons cropped up in the AP, so next year I'm going to check out the AP as well as the Cave.

There's still the Neglected and Zombie dragons to consider, but I'm really at a loss on how to go about experimenting for these, because I don't want to cause harm to my dragons. I liked Dragon Cave partly because it was a friendly, non-violent, no-kill game, you see.

Oh well. :D

It's on the 3rd of July, which is really a weird time, and that's probably why I forgot.

Well, at least this year I'm definitely going to take note of Halloween and Christmas, because of the special dragon eggs released on those dates. xDDD

Off to see my dragon brood now... :D

P.S. Was reading my old entries today, and found out that what I swore to achieve in this post has actually come true. Cheers for my Kuroshitsuji Ray Gun and my pwnsome powers. 8DDD

I swore to get a pgymy and got one. :D (It's the teeny tiny one.) The first one's an albino egg, and we're supposed to be able to see the tiny hatchling inside, but unfortunately it's depicted as just some squiggly white lines. Please give the albino some female vibes. :D

Also, just a reminder: Don't refresh my LJ page too many times or refresh my scroll page too many times as my dragons already have excessive views and might die due to the soft shell disease. In fact, don't refresh any page with my hatchlings/eggs on it if you can help it.

Dad says there's computers on the cruise so I guess I'd be able to get our Halloween eggs by ourselves. :) I don't want to miss out. So, I'll be sailing in the middle of some ocean for next weekend, and will probably be uncontactable. Hohoho.

Been busy taking care of my dragon brood and planning for future dragons these few days! The little ones are giving me much trouble as they keep getting diseases. They probably have too much views, so I'm hiding my scroll for now. Please help by trying not to refresh my journal page so often or visiting my scroll so that they can recover. (One of them has about 7000+ views, I'm honesty quite bewildered.)

Some meddlesome person has probably been aiding my hatchies and eggies by posting them everywhere, but it's actually harming them. I wonder if I have an egg killer (someone who tries to kill someone else's dragons by trying to give it excessive views) on my hands. DDD<

Anyway, I've fogged them for now, so please give them a daily clicking if you can, but don't keep clicking.

I'll be away for Halloween. DDD: On a cruise. I probably won't get access to Dragon Cave during those few days, so I wonder if anyone is willing to help me collect the Halloween eggs? (Halloween is on Oct 31.) I need four so that I can have a male and a female. :D

If my dragons don't grow up by then, I also need someone to be my hatchling-sitter. :D

On a side note, pygmy dragons are soooooo cute. SOOO CUTE! I want one but I have my hands full with my current little ones. I think pygmy ranks first in my cute dragons ranking but silver still tops the list for beautiful dragons. I'll probably spoil my pygmy to death if I ever snag one. My silvers are doing well. xD

I'm seriously considering persuading my mum to play the game, because I know she'll like it. I think she'd like a collectors game like this one, plus Dragon Cave requires a bit of brain to figure out stuff because you're not allowed to give away info about breeding to other players. Just a bit of brain though, that's why it's fun but still relaxing.

It doesn't require much gaming skills or whatsoever that Mum lacks. Probably just fast reflexes (wait, Mum doesn't have that one) to click on rare eggs.

Anyway, Mum seemed pretty concerned about my eggs so I take it that she's interested. She once commented the game would be more interesting if it was orchids instead of dragons (flower nerd!) though. My dragons are far cuter than orchids IMO. xDDD

I promised long time ago that I'd post these pictures, but haven't got round to doing them, so I figured that today'll be a good time to look at some lovely scenes from Hokkaido! This time I'm posting lots of mountain pictures. Next time it'll be the flowers!

We went during June, but the ideal time to go to Hokkaido is actually July, when the flowers bloom. xD The pictures below are of the hot springs at Noboribetsu, where we stayed for one night in a ryokan (I remember having such a friggin' big headache on that night that I couldn't drag myself to the springs) and of Showa Shinzan, a dormant volcano, if I'm not wrong.

Natural hot springs at Noboribetsu!

A tiny shrine. The Japanese worship almost everything, even hot springs.

Water with iron in it. This spring boils and cools at random.

Even the toilets are decorated with the Red and Blue demons. Red for females, blue for males.

Dinner at the ryokan. :D

Showa Shinzan, unless I'm greatly mistaken.

あの時はまだ桜が咲く季節です。

Lots of pine plants there.

It was really cold on the mountain. D: We thought it was going to be just fine so we didn't wear a lot of clothes, but luckily we brought some big coats.

I'll post the pictures of the flowers and stuff we saw at Tomita Farm tomorrow, I think. :D

Oh, and I forgot to say: Please help me click my dragons! I posted them up yesterday, and just one click a day will help them greatly. They had soft shell disease yesterday so I'm afraid they haven't got enough clicks. Thanks a lot! :D

I would say he's the nicest principal I've ever seen. He randomly says hi to students! There was one time when he randomly said hi to me and Wan and we were sort of shell-shocked. We wouldn't be surprised if one of our teachers did that, but for a principal...

I wonder how our school will change from now onwards. Let's say it didn't go too well. Our first try ended up with our cookie batter looking like a brown soup. (I didn't want to drink a milkshake of that, so I dumped it in the fridge.) Our second try was looking good until we added the sugar while it was still being whisked, and the batter liquefied into a thick liquid. We decided to salvage the batter by spooning it into cupcake molds to bake.

The end results: extremely sticky, slightly hard sweet masses glued to the cupcake molds. Well, they're sweet and delicious, but they're not light and crispy like they're supposed to be, and just a tad too cloying and sweet. There's also a distinct flavour of uncooked egg white about them. -.-

We'll try harder next time...
